Earn More: Optimizing the Quora Partnership Program

Quora Partners are earning money based on the questions they ask other members. There’s a method to the madness, and the top earning partners follow these steps to make sure their questions generate revenue.

GETTING ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM

If you’re one of the lucky chosen souls to be a part of Quora’s partnership program, congratulations. The highest earning Quora partners are easily making over $1,000 a week, and even modest partners can make up to $100 a month by easily asking questions in their down time (this is what I do). 

I’ve been a Quora partner for a few months, and while analyzing other questions as well as my own, I’ve found that there are definitely identifiable trends and techniques that top-earning partners use to game the system.

Quora chooses its partners randomly. So this guide can’t do much to help you there. The best advice we can give is to be active on Quora, and maybe send them a kind email outlining why you would be a good fit for a program. There are humans behind the computer, so being genuine and kind can go a long way.

GETTING STARTED WITH MONETIZING QUESTIONS

As you may have inferred, only Quora partners can earn off of their submitted questions. So, in order to to monetize your Quora questions as a partner, there are 2 more necessary steps: 

HAVE ORIGINAL QUESTIONS

Your question must be an original question. Duplicate questions (or questions that are similar enough to an existing question) will possibly be merged, and you will not earn on these questions.

DRIVE TRAFFIC TO QUESTIONS

Your question must be good! Questions are monetized based on the impressions and clicks that it brings to a Quora-sponsored advertisement on that question's page. No Clicks = No $$

WHAT QUESTIONS SHOULD PARTNERS ASK?

Technically, there are an infinite number of questions that can be asked on Quora and thus unlimited earning potential (for each question, up to one year, after that Quora guts you and cuts all earnings from that specific question).

When thinking of Quora questions to ask, consider these factors:

HOW DO I DRIVE TRAFFIC TO QUESTIONS?

One obvious but overlooked factor is the timing of your question posts. On a day-to-day viewpoint, it doesn’t really matter as users that you request answers from will be notified and respond whenever possible, but examples like asking about questions that are already out of style or out of the trending news can significantly damage a question’s potential earnings.

These questions are RIDICULOUS, but look at the earning potential. There’s a huge amount of “click-bait” involved in creating these questions. Remember to put yourself in the mind of the browser when asking questions.

What subtle emotions can I draw to entice my reader? Laughter? Surprise?

What appeals to the everyday human in this day and age? Gossip? Recent events?

What is popular that people want to learn more about? Fitness? A new dance style? Naruto Running?

The potential for earning is endless (as long as you have the time to ask questions and request answers), and  just participating in the community gives you an opportunity to build your brand, give valuable and high-ranking links to your landing pages, and learn more about any questions in the world you might want answered.

If you’re a lazy bum (don’t worry, I am too sometimes, it’s okay to admit it) and didn’t read through the entire article, you’re in luck. Here’s a TL;DR of what you should to optimize your earnings as a Quora partner.

ASK QUESTIONS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN

Being able to go deep into a subject will allow you to delve into unique and specific questions that aren't likely to be merged. You can also easily change the scope of topics you know more about so that you can create unlimited questions.

 

CONSIDER EXTERNAL FACTORS

Recent events and controversies, the time that has passed since a topic was relevant, etc. are external factors that should be thought about when asking questions. Asking for the best marketing methods in 2017 probably wouldn't do well in 2020.

 

ANALYZE YOUR QUESTIONS EVERY SO-OFTEN

By reviewing your questions, you can see what works for you and how Quora's audience responds. For example, if you notice that hip-hop topics don't bring in much money, it might be a good idea to not spend your time asking those related questions!

BE TIME CONSCIOUS, DEVELOP A ROUTINE

Quora recommends that Partners ask 10 questions a day. I don't believe that anyone should go overboard spending their entire day asking questions (unless you really have no other way to earn), but take out a time that works for you and enjoy the passive revenue that follows!
